Adderall XR works by controlling brain chemicals called neurotransmitters.  These are the chemicals responsible for ADD-ADHD symptoms.  If you lack a certain brain chemical it can be very hard to pay attention.

Adderall Black Box Warning

On August 21, the Food & Drug Administration added its strongest warning label – a “Black Box” label – to Ritalin, Adderall, Focalin, Methylin, Metadate, Concerta and similar medications used to treat attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The decision was based on reports of sudden death, heart attacks, strokes and hypertension among childern and adult users of Adderall and Adderall XR.

The concern over the risks associated with ADHD stimulant drugs is so great that it prompted a temporary suspension of Adderall XR in Canada last year.

Adderall XR Side Effects

• Heart Attack

• Stroke

• Hypertension

• Sudden Death

• Because Adderall is made from amphetamine, it can cause your child's heart to race, elevate heart rate to dangerous levels, and raise blood pressure to dangerous levels.

• Other effects include overstimulation of the central nervous system, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, tremors, headaches, hyperactivity, and tics or Tourettes Syndrome.

• Other common Adderall side effects is a dry mouth, a bad taste in the mouth, diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach, and loss of appetite. Children often lose weight when taking stimulants. Stimulants may reduce growth rates in children.

• Sexual dysfunction is a common problem in adults using stimulants.

    Drugs like Adderall XR are obviously NOT the answer to the ADHD problem because they only mask the true problem.  They don't fix Attention Deficit Disorder at its source... BUT I can show you exactly how.
